The community always supported the Airport Link Project and the community continues to support the Airport Link Project.

This isn't a case of Not In My Back Yard.

It is in our backyard, in our parks and on our streets - for at least four years.

We believed that the State Government and its project managers would do everything possible to ensure that the negative impacts of the construction would be minimized.

We believed that they would ensure not only that Brisbane had high quality, inner-city road infrastructure, but also that the construction and operational phases of the project were high quality.

We believed that the years of development and consultation and the hundreds of pages of reports were about ensuring that the delivery of the project caused the least possible disruption to families in the community.

We knew that this project would cause significant changes to our lifestyle, but we appreciated that it was a project Brisbane needed and we were prepared to put up with the disruption for the greater good - as it were.

We knew that hours of work were crucial.

We knew, from the documents, the conditions for the project, the government and the contractors, that surface works would only occur between 6.30am - 6.30pm Monday to Saturday with no work on Sundays and public holidays.

Contrary to what the community had always known, in August 2009 the Kalinga Park site began working 24 hours a day, five days a week.

In November 2009, the Kalinga Park site began working 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Bowen Hills site is now working 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Breaking Trust Report details how these working hours are in clear breach of the project conditions.
